Your company template is a contract, not a suggestion
Generated decks that ignore the corporate master create work for someone downstream. Reading .potx properly turned out to be most of the job.
Large organisations do not have a template because they enjoy templates. They have one because a thousand people making slides independently produces a thousand different products, and the brand team ends up as an approvals queue.
What we read from a .potx
Slide masters and every layout on them, the theme's color and font schemes, placeholder geometry, and the logo positions. Generated slides are then placed into your layouts rather than approximations of them.
A deck that lands inside your template needs no cleanup. A deck that lands beside it needs an hour.
Where it gets awkward
Templates accumulate. A twelve-year-old master with forty layouts, six of which anyone uses, is normal. We surface usage counts on import so you can pick the live ones, and we do not delete anything, because that decision is not ours to make.
